I left home 7:30 in the morning with my host.
I took a taxi and went to Mecca mall which is the biggest shopping mall in Amman.
Taxi is a convenient way to move around here . Because it’s really cheap. The fare is about 0.5-2JD. It’s about 1 dollar-3dollar in USD.
Besides, as many taxies run in the city, it’s really easy to catch.
Many buses also run in Amman. However it’s too difficult to move around Amman by bus for foreigners.
You might think that it’s dangerous to take a taxi in unknown place.
But I didn’t have any troubles while riding in a taxi in Amman. What’s more, my host said that it’s safe and one of the websites about Jordan also recommend taking a taxi.
I got to the mall in an about 5 minutes. But unfortunately,it wasn’t open yet.
So I went to a down town and found a local market there.
I looked around there. At that time, I felt like that somehow,I was standing out.I felt a set of eyes on me. Maybe my appearance is different from them.
I might be totally out of place here.
I felt so within me.
After the window shopping in the market, I went to Jordan museum.
I could see the excavated articrafts which was discovered in Petra heritage in the museum.
According to the website, the must-see thing is a Dead sea scrolls. Unfortunately, I missed it..
I really think that it’s important to look it up in advance so that I won’t miss must-see things.
Anyway, if you like Jordanic culture, it’s a must-visit spot!
Besides, as it’s a modern building,an air conditioner works well inside, So you can cool down the body after you spend the time in the heat outside.
Later, I went to a Roma theater which is a semicircular theater. The origin is ancient Roma and it existed around the Roma empire from Spain to middle east back then.
Nowday, it’s a place to relax for local people. A concert is sometimes held in the theater.
Looking around it, I imagined the lives of the people at that time.
Then, I went to a small museum close to the theater. I entered here for free with a ticket of the theater.
I saw some Jordanian traditional outfits and tools there.
Later, I went to a restaurant for a lunch. The interiors of the Arabic design was really good.
The staff was really friendly and talked to me all the time. And they gave me Chai tea for free.
After the lunch, the stuff took me to a Citadel. People also call it an Amman castle.
I could see many heritages of Roma era , such as palaces, churches. It made me feel as if I was back in the era.
What’s more, as it’s located on the hill, I could see around Amman city and roma theater as well here.
The view was so impressive that it blew away my exhaustion.
There was a little museum inside. It’s free! I saw many heritages there.
It’s definitely one of the must-visit spots in Amman.
A while later, we went to a rainbow street which is a fashionable street of Amman and many nice cafes, restaurants line up.So many Jordanian people hang out here with friends and family.
Then, I went to Mecca mall and went home. The mall was really big and modern. It’s totally different world from that of down town.
