I went to the Princess Islands. It’s the Islands in the sea of Marmara. It consists of the small islands. I went to the Buyuk Island which is the most famous and the largest one this day.
It took about only an hour to go there from Istanbul by ferry. It’s a place where the princes was confined, so called, a prison long time ago. Nowadays, it’s a resort for European people.
The ferry run in Kabatas or Kadikoy.
Actually, I happened to pass by a ferry terminal for the Princess Islands and knew it and I decided to go there right away. Because, the name Princess attracted me.
I excitedly got on the ferry.
I could see the buildings of the old city , such as Aya sofia, Topkapi palace, in the distance while boarding. Moreover, The view matched with the scenery of the blue sky and sea.
A while later, I landed on the Island. The atmosphere is really peaceful! I liked it right away.
As might be expected of the name the Princess Islands, it’s so beautiful!
There was a small beach near the terminal and some people were enjoying there. Somehow, the people of the Island was more relaxing than that of Istanbul because they looked very happy.
When I was thinking how should I look around the Island, A carriage driver approached to me and told me to ride on the carriage.
So I decided to ride it because it’s a little tough to look around the entire island only on foot.
While riding , I passed by the other carriages. Then, The people riding on it smiled and greeted to me. So I smiled back to them. It’s a wonderful moment!
Later, I pulled the reins by myself and I stopped at a place with a nice view. I excitedly drove the carriage on my own.
Then, I stopped by a nice cafe with a nice sea view. The scenery was so beautiful that I could recharge myself.
After the carriage ride, I had a lunch. There were many nice restaurants in the seaside. Almost all of them looked good! So I couldn’t make up my mind which one to choose soon.
After the lots of considerations, I decided it because they promised to give me a discount! Additionally, they were really friendly.
I had a delicious fish and enjoyed a beautiful view of the Marmara sea from the window of the restaurant.
While eating , a seagull suddenly flied into my table from the window and started eating my fish.
I was so stunned that I couldn’t do anything until the staff came to me and sent it away.
Unfortunately, my fish got messy after that. Nevertheless, I started eating it again.
Many stuff came to me one after another and made me fun. I enjoyed the conversation.
Besides, they served me a Turkish coffee and dessert I’ve never had before. It’s so delicious!!
Later, I got on the ferry to go back to Istanbul.
I met Iraqi who is a layer on the ferry and we started chatting. He talked about Iraq and showed me the pictures of the place he’d lived.
It’s beautiful and different from the image I ever had.
Then, I asked him if Iraq is dangerous. And he told that it’s not dangerous, almost all parts of Iraq is really beautiful.
Then, I thought that the truth might be different from the information we know and we need to know the truth with our own eyes.
After I went home, I had a dinner with my host and the roommate and talked about the adventures of today.
