I walked around the Istiklal street. It’s a street which is located in the new city of European side of Istanbul.
Let me explain a little about Istanbul here. There are two continents , European side and Asian side, in Istanbul, even though it’s one country.
Moreover, there are two parts of cities in each continent, old city and new city.
Anyway, nice boutiques , department stores, restaurants line up in the street. It’s exactly the must-visit street in Istanbul!
You can go there by subway. And the nearest staion is Taksim.
I went there with my new roommate. When we got to the Taksim station, a monument came into sight.
Accoriding to the website, it’s a monument of Republic. It’s built to commemorate the birth of the Republic of Turkey.
Lots of statues of the soldiers stand on the monument are impressive.
Anyway, I started walking the Istiklal street. It’s bustled with lots of tourists.
The shop of Turkish Icecream, Kebab. Everything looked delicious!!
A while later, I got to a Galata tower. The emperor Athanasius built it as a lighthouse in 528. It’s the highest building back then.
Moreover, you can enjoy 360-degree panoramic view of Istanbul from the lookout. So many media film here when they feature Istanbul in a TV program. Needless to say, it’s one of the highlights of Istanbul.
Later, I got to the sea named Bosporus. Many floating stands line up along the sea.
The specialty here is a mackerel sandwiches. It’s a sandwiches of a grilled mackerel and fresh vegetable which is flavored with juicy lemon source.
Actually, I wasn’t hungry at all. Because I had just eaten a chicken sandwiches. Nevertheless,I wolfed down it!
That’s how much I liked it!
Then, I went to the bazar and did window-shopping and walked around the city aimlessly.
While walking under the Galata bridge, I found many nice restaurants. I entered there to take a rest.
I could see a beautiful view in the restaurant. It’s so breathtaking that it blowed off some part of my tiredness.
After I went home, I had a dinner with the roommate. She gave me food made with Artichoke. It’s super delicious! I wolfed down again!
